Full Service Dentistry for Your Family

Dr. Thompson is a general dentist, as are the vast majority of practicing dentists in the United States. He is dedicated to providing quality, well-accepted dental care for your entire family. His philosophy is to encourage a non-threatening atmosphere that emphasizes respect for you as a patient and is centered on techniques to minimize any pain and anxiety that you might anticipate.

Preventive Dental Care

We pride ourselves on always focusing on the prevention of dental disease, both tooth decay and inflammation of the gum tissues. We encourage families to bring in their small children for low-stress preventive visits, to reduce the chance of developing childhood tooth decay. Through the judicious use of sealants, fluoride, proper diet, and good oral hygiene, we find that many of our patients remain decay-free throughout their lives, which makes trips to the dental office much less costly and more enjoyable!

Dental Cleaning/Periodontal Services

Our hygiene staff is dedicated to provide our patients with thorough cleaning and preventive services, both for children and adults. Often adults find themselves with the news that they have developed periodontal disease, which is a more advanced inflammation of the gum tissues that has destroyed some of the supporting bone around their teeth. Our hygienists are trained to monitor and treat gum problems, using the latest techniques, to address the causative factors that are involved in the development of gum inflammation and bone loss. We provide periodontal care, including scaling and root planing, where appropriate, to do our best to help patients arrest their disease process and promote good oral soft tissue health.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening (bleaching) services are available in our office, through the fabrication of custom-fitted take home trays, which we feel achieves the improvements of tooth whitening, while minimizing tooth sensitivity that often accompanies harsher bleaching techniques.

Cosmetic and Restorative Care

We have significant experience in our office providing restorative care for the treatment of tooth decay, missing teeth, and improving the smiles of our patients. Our restorative regimen includes the placement of white fillings (composite) in most cases where fillings are the most appropriate option. We recommend placing crowns when teeth need increased strength and support, and also place conservative veneers when indicated and desired to cosmetically change an individual’s smile. Satisfying cosmetic results are important to us, and are a cornerstone of modern dental practice. We want our patients to feel good about their smile, and go to great lengths to ensure satisfactory results for our patients.

Restorative & Implant Dentistry

Dr. Thompson has been placing implant crowns and bridges for over 30 years, and has placed conventional crowns, bridges, dentures, and removable partial dentures his entire dental career. Proper diagnosis and treatment planning is an important part of the success of restorative treatment. Unfortunately, there is no “one size fits all” realistic solution to restorative issues, but our office is dedicated to solving the challenges that are involved with helping patients to have treatment that allows them to smile and chew again.

Root Canals/Endodontics

We offer root canal services for our patients that have toothaches and disease of the tooth pulp which require endodontic treatment, where possible. Occasionally, it is necessary to refer your treatment to an endodontic specialist for those cases with special challenges and needs exist.

Denture/Partial Dentures

We provide removable prosthetic care, fabricating full dentures and removable partial dentures, as appropriate. We are finding that many patients with full denture issues are now having implants placed and retentive inserts built into their dentures, with significant improvement in retention and support of their dentures. Full dentures no longer have to float on the tissues or rely on adhesive to allow patients to function and smile.
